I typically go for shirts from 2XL to 3XL (52" chest, broad shoulders and arms, and 45" waist ). I ordered a size 2XL here because I wanted more compression. They're pretty good at it, but I've had a tighter one as well. It's hard to judge something like that because our wants and needs are different. Someone needs very heavy compression, some people need very little compression and some people need something in between I wanted something firmer so I'm giving them four stars YMMV. after a few washes they seem to be holding up well started to pull after a few washes and socks but so far hopefully it has not happened This will continue, the white color is quite bright and will remain so. So if you're wearing it as an undershirt, remember that it looks more like polyester and spandex than cotton.
