Solid sissy bar but annoying installation

You may have to go to the hardware store and buy screws. I just used the gaskets from the kit. The screws provided to attach the base to the rear fender mounts are too long. I had a feeling that if I hit the ground I might have a stud in the tire (probably not), so I opted for shorter ones. I think I went with 60 or 65mm. The long screws provided helped with the installation as it is quite difficult to bend the bars and get the screw to bite so you can tighten it. The screws attaching the base to the main U-pillar and rack were too short. . Well, actually probably not, but you have to bend down somehow to get it all together and I couldn't tighten it enough in the correct position to do that, so I ended up with a screw that was 5mm longer than the ones was included. However, I like the look of the grilles and I liked that they are made out of hefty pieces of metal. I was expecting something lighter or maybe even empty, but it's not. Of course it would have been better if they were a single piece rather than separate but I think it would be great for what I wanted which would be used primarily as a means of securing luggage. That being said, I was a bit jealous because my riding buddy also just got a sissy bar that I helped install for his Sportster 48. It was a solid piece, the parts included worked great and there was no need to bend everything in place. This is probably the main downside to buying Bolt. The aftermarket isn't as strong as Harley or Honda. Four stars, though, because unless you have an extra $200-$300, it's basically your best bet for a bolt.
