I'm a cartoonist and I decided to invest in a lightbox to simplify my comic making process. I've had it for a few weeks and it has already made my life a million times easier. It's thin enough to fit on a tilted drafting table without slipping or getting in your hand. It's also bright enough that you can see through a thick Bristol plate. To answer the question someone else asked, you can actually see through 140lb watercolor paper. The light is bright enough to look like tracing paper. I used to use graphite paper to transfer my original sketches onto a Bristol board, which took forever and left a lot of room for error. This lightbox was a huge upgrade. The quality of the product can't be beat for the price, especially when you consider there are smaller, chunkier, lightweight desks available for twice the price. The only criticism is that the supplied power cable is quite short. However, this is not a big problem. I ended up buying a 10ft micro usb cable and everything is fine.
