Review on Leviton 47603-DP6: Compact Combo Bridged Phone & πŸ”Œ Data Board with 6-Way Video Splitter - Ultimate Connectivity Solution by Chad Aguirre

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Clean, spartan, functional, well thought out

This is a basic unit that does exactly what it's supposed to do and offers nothing more (as per the Leviton Mfg Co. Inc) "Necessary Distribution of RF Telephone, Data, and Television Signals in an Apartment, Small House, or Condo" (no frills). It's a bit pricey, but given the 'clean' look of the device, it's probably worth it for the modular effect and easy identification of all ports. Everything is color-coded so even beginners shouldn't make any mistakes. The punch tool is pretty decent - but it's small - I dropped it twice and luckily found it both times - and since there's no way to stow it on the board itself (although you CAN store it on the little ledge behind the divider ) I would suggest tying it up and hanging it on the board so you always know where it is. The instructions provided do not apply to this model at all, but when combined with a more specific document found by searching the internet (Leviton Mfg Co. Inc. Product Specifications webpage) for a correct/working installation, sufficient information can be gleaned from them. If you don't have a lot of devices and phones that need to be connected, this is fine for the home. And as someone else pointed out, anything bigger (heavy, needs to be installed) needs to be further reinforced.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • No instructions
