My 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 5.7L came with a custom exhaust system, twin tailpipes with no muffler. I must be getting old as I found this setup to be too loud. I added this muffler because it fit and promised a "moderate" sound level. It wasn't as important as I had hoped. That reduced the resonance a bit at highway speeds, but it's just as loud when idling and accelerating as without the muffler. This truck probably needs a 50 "Big Block" muffler to deter unwanted police attention, but this muffler made it bearable on the freeway, and you can't beat the price.
