First of all, this is an expensive hub. However, I bought 3 of these and am considering a fourth. PROS (for me) - It's a heavy duty all-metal hub with excellent build quality. The build quality is seriously incomparable. IMHO, nothing comparable. - There are bus and autonomous power modes. I'm not at all concerned about performance in this externally powered thing, but it can work passively as well. It is well built and well ventilated. If you look at the bottom connectors, you'll see that there are holes on each side of the connector for screwing in USB cables. I don't have any devices with these attachments, but this is a serious industrial connection if you must. And my personal favourite. It has holes for mounting screws on the case. FAULTS (which may or may not matter, they don't really matter to me) - it's not very nice. This is an industrial quality but also an industrial look. It's great for mounting under a tabletop, leg, wall or any other inconspicuous spot. It only has 4 bottom ports. I don't really care since I have multiple hubs, but it can get expensive if you have multiple devices. I received these hubs with a newly built USB 3.0 computer in a new home. I knew my setup would be very rigid for a long time, so I needed a serious solution for the new USB 3. 0 protocol (and of course backwards compatibility for connecting 2.0 devices). I installed them under my desk and on the side of the cage with small screws. The hubs are completely immobile. I can plug and unplug devices at will and that will win. don't slide at all. I never worry about shutting down or unplugging cables for my more portable accessories. The ones under my desk are perfect for printers, mice, microphones, keyboards etc that I never unplug. I have additional ports. The one on the side of the cage is for devices that I plug in and unplug frequently like flash drives, phones, tablets, cameras etc. It looks nice and is in an area where I can wire my pad very conveniently . Recommend this jack if you are serious about durability, Need to screw on power or jacks. so they don't slip around. They don't glow, but they shouldn't. You are the center of the power user.
