Review on Critter Spray Products 22032 118SG Siphon Spray Gun by Jason Fanney

I bought this spray gun after seeing some videos of people spraying polyurethane with it. I absolutely hate cleaning it so I've been looking for better ways to apply it. This spray gun is a simple and easy to use product that can spray pretty much anything I've diluted enough. I ended up sending my spray gun back upon receipt because a broken rod pulled the paint up to spray. It was a warehouse deal so I got it at a reduced price which was nice. While preparing it for shipping, I came across HVLP spray guns. I never thought I could use it due to the smaller size of my air compressor, but after more research I figured it might work. HVLP vs. this pistol: For me, mostly poly shooting, HVLP wins every time. It has a variable spray pattern, unlike a spray gun that only sprays in a circle. In fact, this gun is a spray can of paint. I can see a bug gun working with someone planning to spray little things here and there and someone looking for ease of use and easy maintenance. The critter gun is better than HVLP because of the cleaning process. The paint touches the gun itself. There is nothing to clean the needles, there is nothing to disassemble the keys. To clean, all you have to do is remove the siphon and the container and rinse with any detergent. The trigger hook seemed too small to me. I have big hands and could only draw with one finger. So in the end I think the HVLP was the thing for me, not this gun. There is nothing wrong with this pistol, it definitely has its uses. I ended up buying an HVLP pistol that was being sold on port charters. For less than $20, it was pretty damn cool. The best finish I've ever done. Poly like glass. I also bought a small airbrush style siphon gun that works just like this critter gun for about $10. I would recommend this product for its ease of use and quality. Just do your research and decide what is best for you.
