Review on Desoldering Gun 212 932°F Anti Static Temperature Adjustable by Ronny Goodman

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good but not great.

Unfortunately, my first device arrived broken and had to wait for a replacement. I can't say it's anyone's fault and it certainly won't break the instrument itself. Setup is pretty easy, but don't expect the instructions to really help. The heater holder is fitted to the right side of the control box and I highly recommend it as it is used in conjunction with the automatic cooling. Inserting the heater into the holder starts the cooling process and prevents burns. The controls speak for themselves, increase the temperature to your desired level and adjust the fan controller as needed. I used this to melt an IC chip on my Xbox and it worked really well. The heat gun comes with an accessory pack including three different size nozzles, a solder suction cup and an IC component holder. Instead, I recommend getting a good solder wick and proper pair of tweezers, as these little tools don't really cut. A good flux paste is also recommended, but if you're looking for a hot air station you've probably done your research and already know this.

Pros
  • Welding and soldering
Cons
  • Sparse instructions
