Good rugged GPS for hiking, boating and the like. Not very good for the road, frequent battery changes also cause inconvenience. I've never tried connecting a GPS to a laptop, but I think it would be good for navigation. Some people don't like the lack of voice guidance, but I really like the lack of a driver in the back seat.
