Review on 🐱 HURD Kitty Litter - Hemp-Based 10Lb Terrafibre Product by Carrie Johnson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

My cats love it and I'm happy with it

I don't use it as the main litter because it doesn't stick together and my cats prefer clumpy litter to poop. Yes, it seems strange, but after trying several configurations, walnut litter for feces and this hemp litter for liquids work best. Yes, my cats urinate in a hemp litter box while everything else goes in a box filled with walnuts. My concern was that I only want to use cat litter that is fully compostable. No, I don't use kitty litter for garden compost, but I have 100 acres of flat land, so I compost pretty much anything that can be composted and use it for bedding. I don't like the idea of throwing kitty litter in the landfill where it just takes up space. Anyway, a few years ago I gave up using clay litter and experimented with pretty much every compostable type of litter I could find. and this combination works well. Some of them will meet my requirements, but the cats didn't like them. A litter box made of newspaper or pine wood comes to mind. A good way to tell if cats like a new litter is to give them an alternative. If the box with the new filling stays empty and everything goes into another box, they'll tell you they don't like the new filling. Filler and I was afraid cats wouldn't like it because it's too fluffy. As it turns out, cats prefer this litter much more than urine recipients. I don't know why, but they are. As this is a non-clumping bedding, it cannot be scooped up, which is why I was afraid of missing out on too much bedding by emptying it all the time. However, this is not the case considering how they use it. It absorbs very well. I have two cats and three litter boxes in use, two filled with walnut litter and the other with this hemp litter. I empty my hemp bowl every few days but the material is cheap so the cost is reasonable. Because they don't urinate in scoopable walnut litter, this (more expensive) litter lasts a long time. Together this seems like the perfect solution. Although I'm very happy with it, I'm giving it four stars instead of five because I don't think it will do very well as a single shot.

Cons
