Poor quality, good for cats

More like hay than hemp. It doesn't absorb urine, leaves marks everywhere and I have to empty the tray every day. I will not buy this product again.

Pros
  • Excellent health for pets and pet owners: no chemicals, dust, phenols or fillers
Cons
  • Some cons

smelled pretty bad after a few days

My cats liked it but after a few days even though it started smelling really bad after a few days took it solid particles immediately. I was hoping it would neutralize cat urine. And so it did, for a few days, but not for as long as pine or walnut.

Pros
  • Eco friendly: 100% biodegradable, compostable and sustainable
Cons
  • I can't remember

Ideal for cage/small animal litter

I bought this as bedding for my guinea pigs. used to buy hemp bedding from Wal.art for $4 a bag which was a bargain. so of course i was lucky, about a month after i took my pigs the product was discontinued ๐Ÿ™„ alternatives on the internet (at least the ones i found) were prohibitively expensive so in the meantime i've stuck to wood chips. Wood shavings are absolutely S*CK for guinea fowl. They poop and pee so much and it's really starting to smell like a barn unless you throw them out andโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Economical: up to 4 times lighter than regular kitty litter
Cons
  • Weight

My cats love it and I'm happy with it

I don't use it as the main litter because it doesn't stick together and my cats prefer clumpy litter to poop. Yes, it seems strange, but after trying several configurations, walnut litter for feces and this hemp litter for liquids work best. Yes, my cats urinate in a hemp litter box while everything else goes in a box filled with walnuts. My concern was that I only want to use cat litter that is fully compostable. No, I don't use kitty litter for garden compost, but I have 100 acres of flatโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy Clean-Up: picks up dirt and odors quickly and holds it in place
Cons
  • Some little things
