As a child I regularly ate soft-boiled eggs in similar, if not identical, soft-boiled eggs. I've probably lived without a soft-boiled egg for over 40 years. I recently saw the movie The Iron Lady in which Meryl Streep plays Margaret Thatcher. In the opening scene of this film, Thatcher serves soft-boiled eggs in eggshells like these, and that planted the seed in me to start eating soft-boiled eggs again. Fragile, even I think LESS than a sane person would expect of porcelain. I think less because they are actually quite heavy. I don't think spoons break unless dropped. If you're going to use them solely for cracking eggs, they're perfectly fine. This is a good set and I think one of these is good value compared to others available on this site at the time of writing this article. There were five spoons in my set. I don't know if this was a mistake by the packaging company or if they decided to add something else just in case.
