6.5" speaker will not fit. The bracket itself is 6 inches wide and the hole in it is about 5 inches. Good luck getting a 6 1/2 inch speaker in a 5 inch hole. It looks like it should be properly mounted on the door but I had to send the speakers back and now I'm waiting for 5 1/4" speakers to get here. The included harness doesn't snap in like a factory harness, so you'll need to tape it down to keep it together.
