It worked! . . . for a while

Well it was great at first. We have a projector in the bank that puts out a HUGE image and set up our home theater, but the projector only uses DVI so we bought this thing. In the beginning it worked great! But then the right audio channel stopped working. I think it's been two or three months. However, this is normal. We had good speakers and when using 2.0 audio, no audio tracks were skipped (when we used 5.0, Die Hard's machine gun fire was muted). It was fine as it worked pretty well and we were projecting onto a white sheet for a short time anyway. But lately the color has been getting worse and now there is a purple cast all over it. When the projector turns on by itself all the colors are very clear and the contrast is perfect, but when the converter is connected to a known good cable the colors are off and muted. I took it apart to see if I could re-solder or fix something, but it's a pretty basic board and nothing was clearly wrong. At first we thought it was our Roku, but when we plugged in another known good Roku the box didn't work. It didn't even recognize it, which was odd, so we tried the laptop we know works and it didn't register that signal in the box either. Between known good cables and devices, the problem was isolated by this box, which worked fine for about two months, after that it had mono channel sound for two months, and now the color display does not work. Ordered in mid-August, defective in mid-December.
