This was a great product for us. Easy to use, works like a charm on our pup, only had to shock a few times and on low settings. In most cases, the beep and vibration work wonders. Our dog immediately responded well, even before we set up the cordons. Our pup runs so the remote and the distance it runs was a big factor in choosing this product. We were not disappointed at all. It's a bit of a learning curve until our pup starts beeping or vibrating for no reason, even just sitting around the house. I took the collar off for a few days and just put it on my desk and it randomly started beeping and vibrating. After talking to the neighbors we found that another dog on the street had the same collar and was on the same frequency, we reprogrammed ours to the new frequency and the random activation stopped. On the plus side the neighbor lives quite a distance from us so we know the range is as advertised and working well. The poor pup was very confused as to what was going on despite the learning curve. We taught him not to go outside and not to bark at guests with a remote control inside the house. The beep is handy in that it gives them some warning before anything physical happens and then it vibrates before electrocuting them, so only stubborn or stubborn pups get the actual physical fix.
