Review on RAMPAGE PRODUCTS 1264 Breathable Installed by Richard Kuntz

Almost 9 months old

I bought this for my 2015 JKU for two reasons: I have a top that is not 100% waterproof and I didn't want the interior to stain. Reviewers said the cover fits well, although I wish it was an inch or two longer on the driver's side, passenger side, and rear. It did a very good job of keeping the cabin cool and dry and withstanding heavy rain and sleet. However, I am all for you getting what you pay for. I've found that other JKU cockpit covers range from $80 to $300. And for $40, I believe that coverage lasted as long as one would expect. The coating sees a fairly bright sun in the afternoon and evening. What I've noticed in the last two months is that it's starting to give off a body odor. I would take it off to air it, but that didn't solve the problem. Two days ago I took the top off to wash the jeep and a cloud of gray felt/particles rose into the air as the large top strip fell apart. Now holes appear along the seams and the bottom "edge". If you have the luxury of storing your jeep in a garage and need temporary protection from a downpour or other inclement weather while you're away, I suggest this top. This is good value for money. If you need a more durable upper to withstand the sun and other weather conditions, I would suggest saving money for a more durable upper.
