First bought two jugs for brewing fruit and tea for brewing loose tea. When I received them I was surprised at the durability given the price (originally bought for $25 each). We're very careful with both, never used boiling water and never put them in the dishwasher (although it's listed as dishwasher safe). The lid consists of two main parts - the handle/spout and the retractable plug. The slide stop slides over the handle to the open and closed position. The handle/spout (pictured left) has a small extruded piece of plastic that acts as a knob and locking mechanism for the open and closed positions. This part broke on both of our devices within 45 days of ownership. That makes the whole thing unusable. I tried contacting support via email but it came back as shippable. TL; DR: It's made out of very cheap plastic that breaks down after a few months. Don't buy this.
