Looks good in the engine bay

This is a well made intake pipe that replaces the very bulky pipe between the throttle body and the factory airbox along with a replacement airbox filter. I already had a K&N slip-in filter, but it would be nice to get a new one. Installation went well. A plastic fitting was screwed into the tube to attach the crankcase ventilation hose. He told me to tighten it by hand and then turn it two more turns. It was easy to hand tighten as it's L shaped and when I tried to turn it again with a wrench the wrench slipped off the plastic nut because it was already fully screwed on. So I pushed it back just enough to get the right angle for the hose and it connected properly. That was the most uncomfortable part. The intake pipe has a larger diameter than the hole in the air box and throttle body. Without asking the K&N engineers, I'm not sure this is a great design as it slows down the air velocity between the airbox and the throttle body, which is where I think you'd want to increase it. After all, it basically cleans the engine compartment. I didn't notice any difference in performance compared to using the inline filter alone and slightly increased the sound out of the inlet. I'm not crazy about full kits but I'm considering it more now as I could use more power and can't necessarily afford the SS at the moment.
