In my opinion, this kettle is dangerous. If there is no water in it and accidentally turn it on, it will keep heating without turning off automatically. I've been using it for a few months now and it just felt like your average kettle. This morning I went to pick it up and burned my hand picking up the pen. I found that it somehow accidentally turned on yesterday and the kettle just kept heating all night. I've since tried turning it on with no water and the unit kept heating up. I'm pretty sure this kettle could have easily started a fire in the house if I hadn't found the problem. Purchase at your own risk.
