Review on ☕ Cuisinart Coffee-on-Demand 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker - DCC-3000 by Marcus Akram

Revainrating 4 out of 5

2 years owned. Hours of fresh tasting, filters, etc.

I've had one for 2 years now. (By the way, "cup" is STANDARD 8 oz, for those of you who don't understand why you don't get 12 CUPS of coffee from this (note the rolling of your eyes)). Pros: I'm most impressed with the fact that this lasts, keeps the coffee hot and tastes fresh for 4 hours. Always with a glass carafe, I found the coffee undrinkable (to taste) long before the usual 2 hour power outage. It tastes burnt or too thick (from evaporation?). It keeps a great temperature and doesn't spoil, perhaps because the coffee is in a closed area with a lid. Not sure. The built-in water filter allows me to fill the tank with water directly from the cold water tap. Much quicker than pulling filtered water out of the fridge. Also, this filter costs $$ while the water filter is pretty cheap ($8 for a dozen or so). The amount of water is suitable for the amount and type of coffee used. I love a hearty French roast: I pour water on up to 10 cups and a basket to the brim. Is it as good as my French Press or stovetop espresso machine? No way! BUT, I have a bloody delicious cup of coffee ready and waiting for me to get out of bed (love those programmable timers). Cons: The least impressive thing is the meter or the coffee quantity display. It's fully read after taking out about three 12-ounce cups. Conversely, when it is half full, one cup remains. A fairly minor inconvenience if you know how he scores points. Another downside is that my insulated beverage container is too big to fit under the dispenser. The coffee tank is easy to clean, just keep an eye on it while you pour it down the sink. It doesn't have a spout and liquid comes out the side (you'll see what I mean). Just hold it below the sink line when pouring. In general, after 2 years he turned delicious coffee cup after cup.
