After purchasing a new smaller cable box we now have room for our larger, older multi format DVD player with no HDMI output. We have an HDMI hub/switch to select different devices. This was the only thing I saw on the Revain that converted the RCA output to HDMI. It was easy to set up. All cables are long enough for flexible installation. Nice that you can connect USB or 2 pin power. I was able to use the USB port on the cable box, which saved a slot on our crowded power strip. The adapter is small and light and comes with an HDMI cable. Set up quickly, works perfectly. I compared it to our other DVD player, using discs from a TV show we were watching so I could switch between the same sequence of titles. No noticeable difference in sound or picture quality, except for a bit more brightness compared to a player with an adapter, which is good. So far it does exactly what I need and I'm happy with it. Update May 2020: It no longer works. The DVD player is no longer recognized. I downgraded my rating to 3 stars. Worked until a little over a year after purchase.
