Firstly, when you connect a car battery and use it as a charger, the cables that come with it are incredibly short. Second, if continuous charging is your goal, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. This extremely simple solar panel offers protection against battery overcharging. Not only will you damage your car's 12v battery, you could potentially damage other electronics connected to your car as well! If you have a hybrid you run the risk of destroying your hybrid battery as well as the inverter used to charge your 12 volt battery under normal conditions (like the alternator on a standard car). It will also leach a small amount of power from your system if it's not in direct sunlight (all night), which totally defeats its purpose. In addition to potentially destroying your vehicle's electrical systems during use, the cables provided are very dangerous on their own. The unshielded contacts on the battery side are connected to the 12V+ battery post. This means that the stream is ALWAYS open. If you accidentally touch a bare part of the car during installation or unplugging, expect large sparks and further damage. As with all SAE cables, the manufacturer should have provided protective caps! This device is dangerous in every way! Unless they add a bunch of precautions, stay away!
