Actually needed for plumbing (3 valve shower set US Hampton standard - mixing valve requires 14mm deep socket to remove - standard faucet wrench will not fit) - the socket can accept a key on the drive end (has six sides on it) - so you can get torque without using a 3/8 drive. You will need to slightly enlarge the hole under the square drive end of the wrench to allow the valve stem to fit - the length of the valve stem does not allow the use of a 3/8 socket.
