I started running earlier this year and almost immediately discovered that my knees are a million years old and made of cardboard. Someone at work recommended getting a compression sleeve and I picked this one and it literally fixed all my knee problems. No issues anymore. Don't even use the ice packs that I got in the same order with these sleeves. And if I wear them while working out indoors on carpet with shoes on there's literally no pain at all, which is incredible considering the amount of pain I was in previously from running. I have no idea how these work but they do. I think they just hug your knees and tell them "you're doing great sweetie" and the knees really respond to that? idk.
