Review on AVS Aeroskin II Hood Protector For Chevy Silverado 1500: Low Profile Textured Black, Flush Mount, Perfect Fit by Ron Josey

Installation was as easy.Product failed to hold up. Updated 7/25/16

Updated below.Installation was as easy as you would think. I have my bugflector centered perfectly and the driver side seems a bit deformed. It sits a but farther away from the hood as the passenger side does. Other than that I love the look it adds to my truck.Update 7/25/16:I originally gave this product 4 stars. I'm downgrading it to barely 2.I'd give it a 1.5 if it were an option. So after 4 drive through car washes the product has failed at the clips. I didn't notice any damage through the first 3 washes but I hadn't checked for cracks on those 3 visits. This 4th wash sealed the deal with the damage apparently. The driver side was completely broken and detached from the clip. The passenger side was spider cracked and would break off any time. When I got home I removed the bugflector to notice even more of a disappointing sight. Despite thoroughly cleaning the front edge of the hood and applying the product as directed according to the installation guidelines the driver side half of the adhesive foam tape was only stuck on by 1/3 of the adhesive area. Water and debris had seeped in and under the adhesive tape.If you were to buy this product with the intention of only hand washing or using a touch-less car wash it would be perfect and likely last a very long time. If you intend on using any other high quality "touch" car wash you will likely end up in the same boat as I have.I have to say I'm quite disappointed because I really liked the way it looked on my truck. I think I will probably just install a chip guard now instead of another bug deflector.

Pros
  • protection and discreet, does not hold snow.
Cons
  • Save your money. Very thin. Broke while installing. Total waste of money.
