Broken out of the box. That's a great idea, it just doesn't work. The legs holding the jar lid will pop out of alignment when tightened on the lid. This doesn't allow you to tighten the tool enough to hold the lid on the jar, so it just doesn't work. And once one of the legs fails, the tool no longer opens or closes fully. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! This is a great idea with TERRIBLE execution. The picture shows that the legs are not present. The top two slide out together while the bottom one is fully closed. It happened when my wife was trying to tighten it on the glass. 1 foot closed and 2 others clicked and pushed out. So you can neither open nor close the tool now. it's just garbage. Don't waste your money, buy a strap wrench or an oil filter strap wrench (same depending on where you looked). The strap wrench works AMAZING! ALWAYS!
