All the reviews here at Revain and around the web said this lens was a beast, over £6. This lens is just a beast. My scale showed just over 7 pounds (with hood and cap). Plays very well with my D500. Sharp and fast. Hand-held photography is a bit awkward. I mentioned it's a beast. Only about an hour with it and I've found 2 issues: It's heavy and can be tricky when shooting handheld in low light. I didn't have a monopod or tripod, so I had to rely on my hands. Stooping in anticipation of the perfect shot was, to say the least, shaky. But reducing the speed and increasing the ISO helped a bit, as did stabilization. @And the most uncomfortable issue I had (and will have) with this lens was not holding it to the camera itself. I need to work on the habit of wearing and holding this lens to the lens. I ended up putting the neck strap on the lens, not the camera. And with two cameras, it got a bit awkward to switch between one camera with that lens and another with a super wide angle. Did I mention this lens is a lens beast? But I did it. Once I get used to actually wearing the lens on camera I think it will work. I need to break 50 year old photography habits. As I play with it and get used to it, I will understand its nuances and tricks. And I will most likely use a USB dock for fine tuning. At this point I'd say it's a great lens, even for a crop sensor camera.
