Bought as a present for an elderly mother. With coffee or tea, she always puts her hand on a napkin to keep warm. I thought it would be perfect. she loved it. She thinks it's too pretty to actually use. It's really beautiful. She's 93 so I said her life is short, SEIZE IT! I expect her to break the lid soon, but that's ok. She loves it no matter what. The colors are very bright. The blue is almost purple (which mom loves!). If you chat, I would. It's really a beautiful thing.
