Boat trailer number plates are vulnerable as they hang under the trailer frame under one of the tail lights. If there are any license implications, I prefer this plastic bracket over the taillight assembly. I use a simple set of straps between the trailer light mounting bolts and the license plate so I don't lose the license plate entirely. In fact, this is the third such license plate bracket that I have had to replace in the last 5 years as the previous two broke. So I think that in this case, a low strength rating isn't necessarily a bad thing.
