I was thrilled when I found these as the original decanters had poorly designed lids that slide and then screw on. The plastic cracked and eventually the lids fell apart. A friend gave us her old screw cap carafe, which works great. New lids for old carafes are $32 for 2 pieces of crappy plastic! When I saw the 2 new $29 screw top decanters I naturally jumped on them. Unfortunately, after washing, filling and chilling the water when I actually carbonated them in the SodaStream, they couldn't even keep the carbonated water going for 14 hours! My old screw top bottle keeps the fizz, even half a bottle, for days. The water from them was fresh for dinner the next day after I carbonated them at 10pm. Damn. Returned.
