This outlet just saved my kitchen.

I bought this over a year ago (December 2017) and installed it as the first outlet for my kitchen circuit. This morning a very old garbage chute (circa 1980's I guess?) had water leaking into the power connector. He pulled the plug from the outlet, which caused the entire kitchen to go out. At the time I had no idea what was causing it, and after a few factory resets I kept hearing a humming sound of a short circuit. My girlfriend noticed a spark under the kitchen sink the last time I put her down. YES. it does exactly what it should! And it also saved me from a possible fire in the kitchen. I am now a firm believer in AFCI and CAFCI devices. Do they have disadvantages? Well, actually there is, but very insignificantly. If you're using a large microwave that's "underpowered" β€” in other words, you're just heating a slice of pizza or hot pocket in a large 14,000W microwave. it will likely turn off the outlet. In these cases, my kids have learned to put a glass of water or a few slices of stale bread in the microwave so it doesn't "underload" anymore. Bread" in the microwave to keep my kitchen safe. But these sockets work and they work when they should. I would give this 6 stars if I could - for saving my kitchen or home today. :)
