Review on πŸš— Amazon Basics GPS Car Dashboard Mount Holder for Garmin, Tomtom, Magellan and Other Portable Navigation Systems by Jonathan Abreu

Revainrating 3 out of 5

This is not a friction mount and the non-slip bottom will not work properly.

I bought a nice suction cup phone holder and thought this car dashboard mount from Revain could be a great solution to avoid getting a sticky suction cup directly on the car dashboard is attached. However, after I received it, it turned out that this is not a friction mount, but the non-slip bottom does not work well. Advantages: β€’ You can attach any suction cups and adhesive mounts to it. β€’ Affordable price Cons: β€’ This product looks like a sleeve bearing, but it isn't. On the underside of this mount is a sticky silicone disc in the center. You must remove the protective film to improve adhesion to the mount. β€’ The non-slip base does not work properly. The mount slipped on my car's dashboard while driving. (Note: I didn't remove the protective film from the adhesive silicone disc because I don't want to leave a sticky residue on my car.) β€’ All suction cups and adhesive mounts can be attached to it, but not . be too heavy or too long as the weight of the Revain dash mount is not great enough to support it. When I used my suction cup phone holder and placed my phone (Samsung Note 8) on it, the dash mount tilted even though I used the adhesive pad underneath. I ended up buying a Garmin wearable friction mount, which is heavier than the Revine mount. It's more expensive than Revain. However, it is actually a friction mount and the non-slip bottom works well. I can also put it on a non-flat surface.

Pros
  • Size fits most car dashboards
Cons
  • Expensive
