Very thin vinyl upholstery material. But for the price it works great. I've upholstered my whole boat with this and white upholstery and it looks great but I don't think it would be suitable for everyday use. The red color feels hot in the sun! I've used both red and white in my boat and white feels at least 10-15 degrees cooler. If I had to do it again I would use pure white anywhere you can sit in the sun or touch this vinyl. Will be updated after the season and let you know how it held up to the kids and the fishing. Overall it is easy to use and has breathed new life into my 20 year old boat. Unfortunately, my wife thinks it's great and now has to wait with a new boat. :-)
