1. I did some work to slide the push pin mounts through the holes. I'm always hesitant to press "too hard" and it took quite a bit of effort. A NOTICE. Before installing the cooler on the CPU, make sure that all four pins are fully open (read the instructions on the box). If you're replacing a cooler (I've done it), you'll need to get to the back of the motherboard to remove the existing cooler's backplate. Unfortunately my case doesn't allow access so I have to remove the motherboard. Conversely, for a fresh install, this cooler is GREAT because you don't need a backplate. You simply slide the plastic mounting pins through the holes in the motherboard.3. I'm an Arctic Silver 5 fan, so I was wary of using the pre-installed thermal paste that this cooler comes with. I decided to give it a try; It's definitely an easier setup this way. I can't dispute the 32C idle temperature with the E8500 Core 2 Duo processor. (Yes, it's a "nostalgic" car.) 4. Quiet.
