Nice halter, should do the job. Our stable requires horses to wear halters while out to pasture, so I wanted something that I knew would break if caught. That skin definitely looks like it will break if you apply reasonable pressure. The leather is quite sturdy and the color is dyed so it looks very shiny like faux leather. It smells very "chemical" and doesn't smell like leather at all. The hardware seems decent and the latch opens easily. I would NOT buy this if you are looking for something spectacular that will not please you. The horse size fits quite large for my average sized TB.
