Don't skimp on this tool

A crimper is a crimper, right? They all serve the same purpose and do the same thing. Not quite. I used to be under the impression that the cheap ones that come with the kits are decent enough, they get the job done. Then I found out. I'm not used to holding a crimping tool without almost cutting off my finger. Security alone costs extra money. But the way it strips UTP cable is like butter. Cheaper options usually need to be handled carefully to avoid damaging the copper. This one just rips it off like butter, and although I've fished copper a few times, it basically keeps them intact. When you use the wire cutters you feel like you actually know they're cut all the way. Cheaper models use crappy blades that break easily and become dull. Also new, you'll never feel like it cuts completely. mostly because they don't. This one fits. The only part I would say rivals the cheaper versions (and probably all the others) is the crimp because they all crimp the same way. However, the industrial feel gives you more confidence that the item will actually stay on. However, if that's all you do all day, I can't personally attest to the longevity of such a job, so I can't speak anyway. Although it was worth it for me.
