I have two thermometers. The one built into this heater is 3-5 degrees higher than my separate digital thermometer. Plus or minus 3 degrees is written on the packaging. This field shows an accuracy of plus or minus 3 degrees, which I didn't see in the description. However, this is a good range if you need a specific temperature. I'll raise the temperature; on it to get the readings I want on my separate thermometer. Frustrating, but I need constant temperature water, so I'll probably leave that, although I don't think it's accurate, and just calibrate it against the other.
