I've been using these brushes for about a year. They work and are well built. I complain that the outer material on the sponge is plastic like the inner material. I have always used these brushes to clean my water bottles. Then I wash them with soap, shake them and let them air dry. I just noticed mold growing on the underside of both brushes. Yes! I never thought about it, but since I use them every day, the sponge underneath is always wet. Ideal environment for mold. Tried bleaching both brushes. Some of the mold has come out, but there is no way to remove the mold that is growing in the sponge under the fabric. It seems like a short-sighted way to make a brush to me, considering everyone will be using it to clean bottles and the inner sponge material will always be wet. I got rid of the brushes and bought another set of regular bristle brushes (like a comb or toothbrush - which will never have sponge under the bristles!) just so I can clean the bristles and let them dry. fully. Damn!
