Review on Delphi GN10328 Ignition Coil by Rich Rickenbaugh

The BMW forums have confirmed my suspicion about the limited lifespan of OEM Bosch coils. After two separate replacements of Bosch single coils with Delphi units to fix misfires on my tuned 335i N54, I decided to replace the remaining OEM coils with Delphi parts. Delphi coils work flawlessly with the N54 engine and are well designed and built. They sit higher on the plugs due to the increased height between the spark plug boot and the top of the coil head, but are securely connected to the plug tip. The coil housing can be pressed against the coil stem so it is flush with the edge of the spark plug well to prevent debris from entering the spark plug wells. This boot gasket can be made tighter than the OEM coils that required removing dirt from the spark plug holes before removing the spark plugs to prevent sand from entering the cylinders. All in all, Delphi coils are a quality and economical replacement for original Bosch units on the N54 engine.
