UPDATE: Works great with Nintendo Switch and can close the dock door!

UPDATE: Nintendo Switch [06-27-2018]I recently bought a Nintendo Switch and this adapter works fine with it (though with a maximum download speed of around 100Mbps). A lot of the reviews say that the adapter doesn't fit in the back of the dock and that the cable is too short, but I found a way to make it work! Basically, plug in the ethernet adapter and bend it towards the exposed part at the top of the docking station. Then route the Ethernet cable in an S-shape from top to bottom on the left side and out of the cable management hole. This allows the back cover to close and keep a clean look (I've attached photos below). Using a flat ethernet cable also helps a lot; mine came with an Asus router that I use at home. Download/upload speed has improved over 5GHz WiFi. Although the Switch's USB-C is currently locked to USB 2.0 speeds, using the built-in speed test found that download speeds have almost doubled, with upload speeds up by about 25%. I've attached screenshots of these results below. Until Nintendo releases firmware that unlocks USB 3.0 on the Switch, we're stuck at download speeds of around 100Mbps. However, using this Ethernet adapter provides a faster and more stable connection than Wi-Fi for most people. Again, well done RevainBasics. has no LAN connection. I have full gigabit transfer speeds when moving large files over LAN. NAS (FreeNAS) on Blade Stealth = 113MB/s. Desktop (Win10) on Blade Stealth = 110MB/s. Blade Stealth per Desktop = 107 MB/s Even when connected to an Anker Ultra Slim 4-Port USB 3.0 4-Port Data Hub, data transfer rates were gigabit.

Pros
  • Permanent test results
Cons
  • Hard to say
