Review on Nexen N "FERA SU1 205/55 R16 94W summer by Mateusz Strach ᠌

The product is definitely not worth the nerve, better not take it.

I drove it for 2.5 years and 55 thousand km, and I can write the following: 1) You won’t get anything better for this money, it’s definitely better than the Chinese, 5-7 year old European used tires, or even more restored options, BUT carefully look at the geometry, and you need to look when the wheel is already on the disk and inflated, otherwise driving on the track will be torment, especially if faster than 100. 2) After 2-2.5 years, the rubber becomes dull and loses 80% of its qualities, be prepared for this and do not focus on tread wear (in general, all Koreans sin with this). 3) What is the result, knowing everything I know now, realizing that I spent countless tire fittings on the fight against vibration - I really regret that I took Nexen, it burns with a blue flame, it would be better if I added and bought normal rubber.

Pros
  • I took in size 235/45/R18 (Skoda Octavia A7) 1) Holds well already from +6 degrees 2) Soft, in size 235/45/R18 swallows small joints and bumps, after 205/60/R16 did not feel a deterioration in comfort 3) The price is nice compared to the premium (and now even nicer) 4) Qualitatively made, when balancing, very few loads were attached 5) Good drainage, you fly into a puddle 2-3 cm deep, in a turn and at +6 at a speed of 110 and the car continues to go smoothly in an arc. 6) Braking at 5 plus, even on cold wooden 7) A very good sidewall, and so much so that if you fly into a well, you don’t even have to stop and not go out to look for 3 years with this rubber - I didn’t roll the wheels - they remained ideal. 8) Resistant to abrasion, though it doesn’t matter because after 2 years it will dub and no matter how much tread is left, it rides very badly.
Cons
  • 1!) The geometry is lame, out of 4 wheels 2 had geometry violations, that is, in the profile when the wheel on the balancing machine is not an even circle, I had to put them back (they say this is what honest Koreans differ from premium), as a result already from 100 there are terrible vibrations, it seems that the rear of the car is torn off, the hubs and the rest of the story stagger accordingly, we rearrange the wheels "for worse" to the front and at a speed of more than 100 the steering wheel goes crazy, the vibrations are as if you are holding a hammer drill in your hands. 2) Never let me down for the first 2 seasons, except for point No. 1, BUT!, at the beginning of the third, the tread was still normal, but the rubber was hardened, the handle and the hook were greatly reduced. 3) It should be noted that the tire fitting specialist was surprised at the last balancing (this was after 2.5 years and 55 tons km) that the wheel, with almost complete erasure, retained its geometry and there were no defects, tears, no bumps.
