I've been testing out blenders recently and found that there are two basic and inexpensive types. First off, let me say that I bake a lot and my KitcherAid mixer is a workhorse. I've been using it for many years and expect to use it for many more years to come. If you're looking for an entry-level mixer, understand that this is what it is (entry-level). This is the type of mixer you start with, and if you decide to bake for yourself you can opt to upgrade. This blender sits on the lower end of entry-level blenders, but the price reflects that. The difference to the cheaper mixers is the weight. Some are a bit heavier because they use more metal parts, this one is light. Noise is another factor, but more so because it shows the quality of the engines. A loud motor that sounds like it's been recycled isn't going to last long on things like kneading dough. Another type of speaker is a powerful, high-torque motor that's a little more capable of hard work. This mixer is the first type of loud sound as it uses everything it has. The next difference is how the tilted head feels. They all feel a bit, I don't want to say cheap so I say cheap. Some feel more inclined than others. It seems cheap. No cheap blender is a workhorse, but not everyone bakes weekly or needs a top-of-the-line blender. Sometimes all you need is a mixer that needs to be pulled out a few times a year to make small baked goods and that's what these mixers are made for, for occasional use or just to get your feet in your baked goods. I gave it 4 stars because there is something missing in the world of budget blenders compared to other budget blenders I've tested. This could be the perfect blender for you depending on your needs. I would buy it for myself but I don't think I would give it to anyone. Blender is decent and cheap.
