When using phantom power, all you need is an external power supply. In my experience, plugging in a pair of Shure KSM141 mics during a session barely has enough power for 1-1/2-2 hours of session, even with the built-in battery on! That being said, they REALLY only need to sell USB to coax cables so you can use millions of rechargeable batteries for the cell phone market. I plucked up courage and used the cable with my 20,000mah battery and it worked flawlessly - a 2 hour session used almost no capacity so the battery still showed a full 4 charging bars.
