Better than the Egg Genie

The Egg Genie was my first egg cooker. Talk about something you don't even know until you understand! Eventually the ghost gave up so I was about to order another one but stumbled across this one. I'm so glad I did. I'll start by explaining why you need a stove and end with why it's better than a genie. Ever had trouble peeling an egg? Have you ever spent five minutes peeling off a piece of shell and ended up with an egg that looks like it's been eaten before? Never again my friend. Here is your answer. I've tried everything the internet says. Vinegar and/or salt in the water, an ice bath after cooking, a few different egg timers, all with varying degrees of success. I've never had a genie egg I couldn't shell. So, yes, you need an egg cooker. Also boiled eggs. I've never tried them at home, but they are so easy to cook in the oven! And so good! This is my new favorite way to eat eggs. Hamilton Beach vs Gini: HB is simply more attractive. It looks more like a device than a plastic device. You don't have to prick the eggs. To be honest it might have worked with a genie in a bottle but I never tried it because the instructions said so and the punch was right there on the tray. This is a step I don't skip because sometimes the egg white comes out of the hole a bit. So you have to scrape it, which will deform the egg. I thought the coating wouldn't stick. It's not, but it's easier to clean than a genie in a bottle. I'll try mineral water. She has a switch. Genie in a bottle doesn't do that, so you had to set everything up, then turn it on and turn it off again by unplugging it. I disabled a start because the measuring cup is unreadable and needs to be kept separate from the stove. (on both models).
