Almost ruined my crank arm

First of all, I never got around to testing the "lighted" part of these. I wanted some cheap flat pedals to put in an older road bike that I use for tooling around the neighborhood with the kids. The bearings on these were super tight. definitely you'll be losing energy that should go to pedaling just dealing with the friction on the pedals. But worse, the threading on the left pedal was bad. When trying to put it on the bike, it would not bite. When it finally did bite, it cross-threaded, and damaged the first few turns of threads on my crank. I know the crank thread were fine because I've changed pedals on that bike numerous times and always add lubricant when I do it. I was able to gently back it out, and then I had a bear of a time getting the old pedals back on. those first few damaged threads really made it bad. I was able to get the old pedal on, but I don't think I'll be able to swap pedals on that crank arm anymore. These pedals are going immediately in the trash.
