Review on 3M 568 Positionable Mounting Adhesive by Doug Knight

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good for editing photos or art

I edit a lot of photos to show in competitions, from 8x10 to 13x19. Before I found this product I screwed up too many prints with spray adhesive. There are no ruined prints, bubbles or loose edges with this product. You can move the imprint on the board until you have made the connection permanent with the included scraper. I use a "self-healing" cutting mat and a utility knife with a fresh blade. To cut the adhesive film, I place the print on the adhesive film so that it hangs over the adhesive film by the two edges. To trim the other two edges, I angle the blade under those edges so the adhesive sheet is slightly smaller than the print. Then, as directed in the included instructions, press the adhesive backing against the back of the print to transfer the adhesive, peel off the backing, place the print on the circuit board, and press the print into place when the position suits you Board to make the binding permanent. Each roll comes with instructions, a scraper and a sheet of protective material to cover with the print to protect the print when using the scraper. The main trick is to avoid getting glue on your fingers which can then accidentally transfer to the print.
