I have a ’01 Grand Prix 3.1 that has some noticeable valve clicking until the car warms up and then it’s pretty quiet. I tried Sea Foam SF-16 first and nothing changed so. Based on reviews and a pretty reasonable cost, I thought this might be worth a shot but I haven’t noticed any changes after several months of use. The mileage is unknown but I would guess it to be near 100,000 and I don’t drive it much so perhaps I’m not patient enough or it needs a third application. Perhaps I’ll give some Bar's Engine Treatment for High-Mileage Engines a shot at the next oil change. My best guess after about 50+ years of doing my own repairs is it’s mechanical and needs some valve work to silence it but it doesn’t leak and/or burn oil and it stops making noise after it warms up so I’ll live with it rather than pop a valve cover and likely cause another problem. I purchased it just to quiet those valves and it didn’t seem to do anything so that’s why I have the 3-stars though that’s pretty arbitrary based on my limited experience with it. it’s probably doing something of value in the crankcase if nothing more than cleaning off some crud so OK is the best I can do since it didn’t do what I purchased it to do though experiences do seem to vary widely based on the reviews.
