A strong drawstring makes it easy to tie heavy garbage bags, close them, and carry them down the stairs to the bin. I have also used these bags after my fish died and I had to clean out the aquarium. I used bags to get rid of the wet and heavy rocks so I could easily carry the heavy bags down the stairs. I doubled each bag and didn't notice any rips or tears.
