Review on Camera Canon EOS M100 Kit 15-45mm IS STM LP-E12, white by Haruto Asahi ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It is of good quality, but I won't buy it again.

In general, I like the device so far. I moved to it from a DSLR, which got tired of its dimensions and weight, but did not lose in terms of photo quality, but even won (due to a newer filling). The touch screen control is superb, it's as easy to use as a smartphone. Let's see if some problems that have not yet been noticed will surface during operation, but so far the model seems to be very successful, especially at the new discounted price (I took it for 28).

Pros
  • -Filling. In fact, this is a modern cropped Canon DSLR, only in a compact body (and without a mirror). The combination of the new sensor and Digic 7 handles noise quite well, compared to my old canon DSLR, the range of working ISO has almost doubled; - Image quality is excellent. The in-camera jpeg is quite good, raw is very plastic, you can pull out a lot of details from a picture in the editor, this pleases; - Many shooting modes that will appeal not only to amateurs and beginners, but also to pros (for quick handheld shooting, some modes are what you need). I would give special praise to the machine - very smart, the percentage of correctly recognized scenes is close to 100. There are also classic manual modes: aperture priority, shutter speed priority, manual; - The autofocus system (proprietary dual pixel) is good - fast, clear, especially in combination with the STM lens; - The dimensions are super compact, in comparison with a DSLR, this is a separate bonus; - Separately, I note the hybrid push-button-touch control system, some of the functions are implemented through mechanical elements, some through the touch screen. Everything together works intuitively, got used to it in 10 minutes. The menu after the canon DSLR is generally native.
Cons
  • - The build quality, despite the fact that it is made in Japan, is a little puzzling - a couple of body panels squelch, there are small backlashes on the buttons. Everything was tight on the DSLR; - The whale lens is not happy with the aperture values, especially at the far end. But it has good sharpness.
