I thought I heard strange things on the ceiling and walls. I hate apartment life. Especially these old buildings. Anyway, I got it because I was curious. and get some rest when I caught a neighbor trying to peek out my back door. I live on the ground floor and feel like I'm in an aquarium on display. So I set the cameras to horror, everyone will be watching. (See my PTZ camera report for photos from this event.) Anyway. This thing works. However, there is a learning curve. Remember. It can recognize ALL signals. ALL magnetic fields. And some reflections are just a reflection from a shiny object, not the camera. However. Once you use it. Find out what he's trying to tell you. You will find it effective. Just remember that the device needs to have a magnet or transmit or both to be recognized. The cable bugs are invisible to him unless you get close enough to see the small magnets in the microphone. Or look at the lens if it's a camera. There are more expensive devices like $800+ that make this easier. But I'm not crying. sooo My advice? Yes, they work if you're willing to take the time and effort to understand how they work and how best to use them. It only took me a few days to feel pretty good using it. And I keep getting better.
